Gothic Mastiffs is located in Mesa, Arizona. My name is Lisa Eddy, and I have been
working to better the breed since 1996. Jack has grown to be a great representation of the breed,
winning multiple Best of Breeds and Group placements.
Please feel free to visit "Jackpup", along with his friends and his kids.
I acquired my first Mastiff in 1996 and have been involved with Mastiffs since then.
I believe that education about dogs in general and Mastiffs in particular, is extremely important when
exploring whether to acquire a Mastiff. In my opinion, Mastiffs are wonderful dogs, but it is important
that people obtain information about the breed before actually acquiring a Mastiff.
Gothic Mastiffs fully guarantees all of our puppies for all genetic defects and stands behind all of our
puppies. Our puppy contract is very detailed and gives complete care and feeding instructions as
well as all of the health guarantees on the puppies. First and foremost, we believe that education
about the Mastiff breed, standard, health issues, and general care are extremely important and that
taking the time to understand these topics is critical. In addition, our breeding program strives to
improve the Mastiff breed by breeding true examples of the Mastiff breed standard that have been
tested and cleared for genetic health problems and have sound temperaments. Please feel free to
contact us and we will be more than happy to share any information we can about our perspective
on our dogs, food, training/conditioning, and socialization.
My top priority is that my dogs are
exceptionally cared for and socialized as well
as possible, and I receive compliments
constantly on how well my dogs appear and
behave. For example, I believe that with respect
to food, we really do get what we pay for. I
look for food with high quality meats and
grains, without fillers or unnecessary chemicals
and/or preservatives. Although I am vegan, I
believe that the dogs are and should be kept
carnivorous. Please contact me if you would like
more specific information on my thoughts on
food. In addition to food, I have a specific
plan on socialization for adults as well as
puppies and young dogs. Appropriate
socialization is critical for any dog, but I
believe it’s particularly important for giant
breed dogs such as Mastiffs. I cannot stress how
important socialization is for Mastiffs, and it
is fun for us humans as well to take our
beautiful dogs out in public for all to see!
Moreover, I always have always placed a high
priority on making time either in person or on
the phone for people who already have or are
considering a Mastiff as an addition to their
family. I strongly believe that information on
dogs in general, Mastiffs in particular, along
with potential maladies such as orthopedic
problems, is critical and that continuous
learning is beneficial to everyone. Since I
realize that our information set on dogs and
Mastiffs is continuously evolving, I try very
hard to keep current by subscribing to various
publications. Similar to the food, I would be
happy to discuss any of this information with
you and to help identify any resources that
could potentially be helpful to you.
