Happy Birthday Jack! Jack turned 8 last week which is a major milestone for a Mastiff.
Not only has he aged with style and was the oldest Mastiff by three years at the recent
Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, he is also in the best shape of his life. He has all the
energy, mischievousness and spunk as a dog half his age. He has also produced some spectacular
offspring which we will be sure to see more of in the confirmation and agility rings as well
as obedience trials. Check out "The house that Jack is building" for up to date information
on all his offspring's accomplishments.

A trip to New York City with two big dogs cannot be planned in
one day, and it certainly cannot be undertaken without a Massive
support system. We would like to take this opportunity to thank
those that have helped us live our dream to go to this
prestigious dog show and show our own dogs. First I thank God
for making this trip possible. Things pretty much just fell into
place and it felt right to go. The weather going to New York was
just perfect and although it was not on the way back, we had
some extra time to do errands, laundry and just RELAX after the
excitement of the dog show. Next, words cannot express how much
I appreciate all the help from my mom, Shirley Eddy. Without
her, this trip could not have happened at all. For all the roll
and bone buying, mail collecting, errands run, moral support and
encouragement given, and everything else you have so generously
given me to make this dream a reality, I thank you more than
words can express. THANKS MOM, you are the BEST!!!!! Thanks too
to my dad, Don Eddy, for also providing a large amount of all
kinds of support. This trip could not have happened without Wade
and Debbie Wickman, either. Wade stepped up to the challenge to
showing an incredible dog that he co-owns at Westminster and did
a fabulous job in and outside of the ring. Wade and Debbie were
up in the hotel room and when they saw the van coming down the
crowded and chaotic Manhattan street, they ran down to the hotel
lobby and helped us park and unload the van and dogs in record
time! Wade, you also did a great job of getting Jack to "settle
down" at night--thanks for that so we could sleep a little!
Thanks you two and I know we are counting down the days until we
can do this again! The visit to Manhattan and the dog show were
themselves only a small fraction of our entire trip and my
wonderful traveling partner Linda did a tremendous job helping
with all the logistics of traveling with two very large dogs on
a very long driving trip. The trip to New York and back was so
much fun in so many ways and the going and coming back of the
trip was almost as much fun as the dog show itself. It's hard to
be vegan at Cracker Barrel, but we sure tried and had fun!
Thanks to Memo for taking good care of the two girls--they had a
blast with you and your dogs. Last but certainly not least, Jack
and Scottie were a joy to travel with. It's asking an awful lot
of a dog to travel that far, continually sleep and potty in
strange places, see and be petted by large numbers of people,
hear lots of very loud and unusual noises (Manhattan street
sounds), and keep your cool. But--both Jack and Scottie took
everything in stride. They both ate, pottied, slept, exercised,
and made TONS of new friends all across the country on this
trip. They attracted quite the crowd wherever they went, whether
it was Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, or
New York. What wonderful boys! They also went to every Petsmart
and Petco we saw on this trip, which is probably why it took us
so long to get back to real life back in Arizona!
Well after the amazing week at Westminster - Wade and Debbie
went off to Albany. There Ed Thomason and Tanker got a taste of
what the future holds for them as well as Gothic Mastiffs and
Monsoon Mastiffs. On their first day out they won Best of
Breed!! WOO HOOO - Thanks Ed! and then on Sunday Cruzer
won reserve winners dog! Diesel showed well with Wade -
Tanker is on his way to California with Ed...watch for updates!
We would like to announce that Gothic Eleanor of Acquitaine has
achieved the RAE title, and we believe that she is only the
second Mastiff EVER to obtain this title. Read more about
it and what's coming up in the future on
Ellie's page !!
Check out Moxie's new picture's on her page - it is amazing that she is only 6 months old!!
Check out her page...
After a quiet spell, things are heating up for Gothic Mastiffs!
Little Shelby won winners Bitch in New Mexico last weekend!
WooHoo Shelby! And a big thanks a great job to Kara Berrey,
who not only did the handling but the transporting too!
Also BIG news - Jilly turns 6 years old this Tuesday - Wow !
time has gone by so fast - she is an amazing girl a the heart
and spirit we should all have. Her enthusiasm for even the
little things in life is so amazing. She has been a
wonderful mother to her puppies and a wonderful to anyone who
meets her. Thank you Jilly bean and Happy Birthday....
We are so happy to announce that…...ERNIE's got kids!!!!! Ernie
and Jill gave us three beautiful little girls!! They are too
amazing!! We know that Ernie is looking down on them and is so
happy with them. If he were still here, he would be so proud of
them. We miss Ernie so very much, but it is incredible to have
his little girls to carry on his line and his legacy. Very much
worth the long wait!!
We believe that this litter from
Ernie and Jill is truly amazing, and we give reverence to all
who made it possible. First and foremost, this litter is truly a
gift from God, who can make all things possible. All sorts of
events had to line up just right so that this litter could
happen. Ernie was placed with me 10 years ago and the sperm for
this litter was collected nine years ago; Jill was placed with
me almost six years ago and never would have come here if not
for my first Mastiff, Shelby. Our wonderful vets put so much
time and effort into the litter as well, and we are so thankful
to them. Jill is such a wonderful mom--just the best!-- and is
so healthy and vigorous and of course, without her, the litter
would not have been possible at all!! My mom helped by providing
special treats for Jill, and moral support and words of
encouragement, especially during the March Tucson show when, as
she was taking care of Jill while I was at the show, it became
very apparent that Jill was likely pregnant with Ernie's
puppies. My dad also helped with the puppies and made sure they
had every sort of toy and treat and of course, so did all the
other dogs!! And, you have made sure that the van is always full
of gas!! Thanks dad--you are so generous! And to all of my
friends who helped at the c-section and after the puppies were
born--Brenda, Thea, Shana, Pat, Alex, Kara, Felice, Elizabeth,
Kelley, Michelle, Wade and Debbie, Monte, Linda N, Linda R, and
all the rest!
