Mastiff show time was 12:30 in
ring 5. The ring was scoped out and numbers were retrieved and
for those of us taking pictures we checked out the best spots
for that one great picture. The excitement started
building in the mastiff benching area about 12:00 and the fact
that the breeds before the Mastiffs were running late didn't
help. All the dogs were excited - they all knew this was their
big chance. A sort of electricity went through the air.
Anticipation was high - this was it! A chance to be on the green
carpet, a chance to stand and look up and say - I'm here at
Madison Square Garden with a great dog, whom I love dearly, to
show others how proud we are of our dogs, a chance...
Gothic Mastiffs are extremely thankful for that chance and even
though neither dog made the short cut, they both showed
extraordinarily well, had a great time and made their
impressions on New York City. Thank you Jack and Scottie
for a chance of a lifetime!
