133rd Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

Gothic Mastiff was excited and proud to attend the 133rd Annual Westminster Kennel Club dog show. CH. Erieside Gothic Yes Jack! (Jack) attended as well as his offspring CH. Gothic Paradise by the Jackbilt Light(Scottie). Jack, being the oldest Mastiff there by three years, showed with the style and grace of a true champion. Scottie with enthusiasm, also showed wonderfully. A beautiful father - son team.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, is one of the worlds most prestigious dog Shows, and the first all breed show was in 1877.  Ever since that time it has been the goal of most dog breeders, handlers and enthusiasts to attend at the beautiful Madison Square Garden Center in New York City. Mastiffs, being one of the oldest breeds, were there at the first show and have made an appearance  every year since.  Although the Mastiff has never placed higher than a group 3 they are certainly a fan favorite

When you enter Madison Square Garden a sense of history surrounds you. "The Garden" in which the show is held now has been there since 1969.  A beautiful arena; smaller than it appears on television has an intimate  feel to it. Westminster is a benched show, meaning that any entered dog must be in the benching area by 11:00 am and stay until 8:00 pm to allow time for the fans to meet and greet all the breeds.  The crowds have always been large for the Westminster shows and this one was no exception.
